Teradata Announces Enhanced Data Management Offerings
Teradata Corporation announces the general availability of Manufacturing Logical Data Model (MLDM) 4.0 and Teradata Master Data Management (MDM) 2.0. MLDM 4.0 defines how different types of data relate to each other and is a roadmap for building an enterprise data warehouse. Seven new and expanded capabilities are included in MLDM 4.0. These include activity-based costing, planogram, trade funds management, party preferences, legal case management, account budgets and unstructured text capture. In addition, the new version includes additional capabilities in product warranty and quality, demand planning, yield management, dynamic shift scheduling and maintenance repair and overhaul. Meanwhile, MDM 2.0 gives companies new capabilities to ensure that all master data (definitive data pertaining to customers, products and suppliers) is integrated and accurate. New features include improved master data manageability with advanced visualization of hierarchies; capabilities to profile master data in the development and runtime environments; a new packaged MDM sample application, based on a CDI (Customer Data Integration) model; new publishing services; enhanced security uniquely designed for MDM protection; and enhanced web services functionality, among others. The first order for Teradata MDM 2.0 has just been placed by The Hershey Company, an existing Teradata Warehouse client.
