Kraft, TerraCycle Make Green Fashion Statement
CAPRI SUN, a Kraft Foods brand and TerraCycle, the eco-company with the concept that any disposable material can be reused and created into something of value, have teamed up with green designer Justina Blakeney of Compai to create a one-of-a kind dress designed entirely from CAPRI SUN drink pouches. And, it's now being auctioned online for charity at www.ebaygivingworks.com. All proceeds from the auction, which will run through April 4, will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
"As the largest producer of juice drink pouch products, CAPRI SUN is thrilled to support TerraCycle's efforts to repurpose our pouches, and help them give back to the community, as well," says Nora Kalter, brand manager, CAPRI SUN. "The Drink Pouch Brigade encourages both kids and their parents to protect the environment, while raising funds for their school or organization."
The dress was recently unveiled as part of the CAPRI SUN Ready to Re-Wear Runway Show at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade, a show hosted by teen actor AnnaSophia Robb (star of the Disney feature film currently in theatres, Race To Witch Mountain, and credits that also include Jumper, Bridge to Terabithia, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory).
