Kidde Residential Chooses Optimization Solution

Kidde Residential & Commercial implements a solution to optimize its sales and planning operations (S&OP) process. ToolsGroup, a global provider of demand-driven inventory optimization solutions, enters into an agreement with Kidde to provide this solution. Part of UTC Fire & Security, Kidde R&C is a company specializing in fire detection and suppression, and manufactures products ranging from portable fire extinguishers to smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. 

"The net effect of our ToolsGroup partnership is a common data set and workflow across our S&OP process, including forecasting, supply chain optimization, replenishment and production planning," says Suresh Krishna, Kidde's director and head of global operations, supply chain and IT. "In addition, ToolsGroup's Service Optimizer 99+ [SO 99+] will help us provide our commercial and residential customers with the best possible customer service."

The S&OP solution is being developed and implemented by Supply Chain Process Improvement (SCPI), a consulting firm that specializes in optimizing S&OP and other supply chain processes. The total Kidde solution includes process definition and implementation of the SO 99+ technology, which includes demand modeling, service level optimization and inventory optimization, and replenishment planning.
