Kellogg in Talks to Buy Diamond Foods
Kellogg Co. is in late-stage talks to buy snack foods company Diamond Foods Inc. for more than $1.5 billion, the New York Post reported, citing unnamed sources. Kellogg could pay $35 to $40 a share for Diamond, the newspaper reported.
In the US, breakfast foods now represent a little more than 20 percent of Kellogg’s net sales — with snacks being a slightly larger category. Kellogg's cereal lineup includes Frosted Flakes, Froot Loops and Rice Krispies, while Diamond's stable of brands includes Kettle potato chips, Emerald nuts and Pop Secret popcorn.
