Heineken Deploys Decernis Compliance Management Tool

Technology company Decernis and Heineken N.V. announced the joint deployment of the latest generation of food contact materials and packaging supplier compliance management.

The goal of the partnership is to gain efficiencies and reduce waste. Soliciting and providing supplier documentation now becomes a few clicks of a button to create reusable compliance building blocks. Information is collected, validated, stored and shared within one centralized document and project management system. Decernis will also aid in the automatic, rule-based validation of Heineken's compliance questionnaire.

The Decernis Supplier Compliance Management System was implemented and delivered to Heineken worldwide in the first quarter of 2018.

"With Decernis, we have created a new global standard in food contact compliance here that we believe will further Heineken's reputation of brand excellence and harmonize and substantially lower the cost of food safety management to our global network of breweries and suppliers," said Marc Brouwer, global lead for packaging materials and team lead on the project.

"I am proud of the work we did with Heineken because the Decernis way of supplier compliance management can model the complexities of brand owners, food manufacturers [and] converters, as well as the upstream raw material manufacturers, so that they work together towards a common goal" said Patrick Waldo, assistant director, special project team lead.

Decernis LLC delivers global solutions for product compliance, safety, and risk management through smart technology, intelligent systems technology, big data analytics, and global expertise.

Heineken ranked 20th on CGT's list of the Top 100 Consumer Goods Companies for 2017 with $21.9 million in revenue.
