The Boston Beer Co., Boston
Jonathan N. Potter joins the manufacturer this month as chief marketing officer. Potter will be responsible for overseeing the company’s planning, development and execution of its brand development, marketing and advertising initiatives. He joins the company from Moet Hennessy USA, where he served as managing director of its Chandon division.
WD-40 Co., San Diego
Daniel E. Pittard was appointed to the company’s board of directors.
Retailers
Barnes & Noble, New York
The company named Jaime Carey president of development and Restaurant Group. In his new role, he is responsible for overseeing real estate development and the newly created Restaurant Group. Carey joined the company in 2003 and most recently served as chief operating officer.
The Home Depot, Atlanta
Lyne Castonguay recently resigned after three years as Home Depot’s senior vice president of home services to become chief merchant at Canadian grocer Sobeys. She is succeeded by Kelly Barrett, who has served as Home Depot’s VP of internal audit and corporate compliance for the past decade.
Macy’s Inc., Cincinnati
Terry J. Lundgren will step down as chief executive officer next year. Having served as CEO since 2003, Lundgren will be succeeded by the company’s current president, Jeff Gennette.
Staples, Framingham, Massachusetts
Ron Sargent has stepped down as chief executive officer. Shira Goodman, Staples’ president, North America operations, is interim CEO. Both internal and external candidates are being considered in the search for a permanent replacement, which is being conducted with help from executive recruitment firm Korn Ferry.
