AMR Research Bolsters Sustainability with New Hire

AMR Research welcomes Hiranya Fernando, a leader in business, environmental, and political issues, to its sustainability team.

Hiranya has close to a decade of experience in managing and researching projects related to climate change, clean energy, and carbon markets for major companies. Before AMR Research, Hiranya worked for the World Resources Institute researching clean technologies, such as carbon capture and concentrated solar, and helping large companies form sustainability strategies around energy use, water use, GHG emissions, recycling, and waste management. She also worked for the World Bank's carbon finance business and a number of other financial institutions.

"With the addition of Hiranya, AMR Research adds to a team that is unsurpassed in the science and business of operational sustainability," says Kevin O'Marah, chief research officer at AMR Research. "For our clients, it's not just about creating sustainability programs that resonate at the business or science level, but understanding how different constituencies can affect the success of a program. With experience at The World Resources Institute and The World Bank, Hiranya has a unique perspective that she will apply to solving our clients' sustainability issues."

On Nov. 11, AMR Research will highlight its sustainability team at one of the company's events, From Awareness to Execution: Sustainability in the Global Supply Chain. The event will also feature executive speakers from Nike, PepsiCo, Dow Chemical, Owens-Illinois, and Walmart's green-labeling committee, as well as Steven Fludder, vice president Ecomagination, GE Corporate.
