Variety Wholesalers plans to install 350 units of Handheld Product's Dolphin 7600 Mobile Computer for in-store data collection applications. The devices, equipped with a data collection application, enable retailers to validate user input and look up information against a 150,000-item file stored on the Dolphin 7600. It also can place shelf replenishment orders and transfer the collected data via batch mode to the central office where it then integrates with the back-end system.
