Staples Installs RFID Inventory Tracker

Staples Business Depot installs AbsoluteSKY's RFID-based intelliTracker product suite by Fujitsu Transaction Solutions. In May, the real-time, long-range inventory tracking system was piloted in a Staples Business Depot in Canada. Currently, 1,500 SKUs have been tagged. The system can report inventory changes on a minute-to-minute basis as merchandise travels from receiving to store shelves, across retail-defined zones and through the point-of-sale process. Staples uses the system to quickly balance its master inventory system. The product includes a tool for locating merchandise, managing returns, feeding the replenishment system and preventing out-of-stock situations.
