Sony Europe Combines Item-Level RFID and Video Tracking
Sony Europe implements Reva Systems to create an RFID tracking system. The electronics manufacturer is using Reva Tag Acquisition Processor (TAP) units to combine item-level RFID with video tracking. Sony products are tagged with RFID labels for shipment. Tags are read at every stage of the shipping process; at the same time an automated video system records the process, burns RFID data onto the video image and indexes video stream according to the RFID information. The system also logs pallet movement through dock doors, providing visual and electronic proof-of-delivery.
