Siemens Awards Global Freight Contract to DHL

Siemens' air and ocean freight and Customs Brokerage business in the United States will use DHL Global Forwarding as its preferred international carrier. The global contract will support Siemens in improving service levels, reducing costs and streamlining their overall supply chain. The contract covers a range of Siemens products across all of its divisions: Industrial Automation, Motion Control, Building Technologies, Industrial Solutions, Mobility and Osram. DHL has also been re-awarded the exclusive contract for the Siemens Energy and Automation Europe to U.S. Drop Shipment Program. A drop shipment is a shipment of goods from a manufacturer directly to a dealer or consumer, bypassing the wholesaler. Siemens selected DHL as the only provider endorsed for its United States to Worldwide business and received the freight forwarding endorsement for all regions.
