Samsonite to Add 3D Product Images Online

Luggage maker Samsonite will use 3D product imaging solutions from Cappasity on its U.S. e-commerce sites, the companies announced.

The consumer goods company will use Cappasity’s 3D visualization tools for products across the Samsonite, American Tourister, Hartmann, High Sierra, and Gregory Packs brands.

For 100 years, Samsonite has combined notable style with the latest design technology and attention to quality and durability. “It is important for our customers to have the opportunity to examine the goods in detail, and 3D visualization allows us to bridge the gap between online shopping and brick-and-mortar stores. We chose Cappasity because its solution allows us to share comprehensive product information with our customers,” said Jay Nigrelli, Samsonite’s vice president of e-commerce.

“We are thrilled to have [our] solution used for Samsonite online stores and believe that today will mark the beginning of a fruitful partnership,” said Cappasity chief executive officer Kosta Popov. “Not only does our platform showcase products in 3D, it also demonstrates the way customers interact with the items. The data gathered is unique and invaluable for marketers, since 3D View is the only format to provide feedback based on customer-product interaction.”

Cappasity’s platform allows brands and retailers to shoot thousands of products in 3D every day without the need for specific equipment, making it a go-to solution for large catalogs. The software creates a 3D image in just three minutes and automatically embeds it into an online store through the company’s SDK. The unique 3D format with data streaming loads in seconds on all devices, including smartphones.
