Nestle Nespresso Rolls Out Global WMS
Nestle Nespresso, the global division in the portioned coffee market, implements Manhattan Associates Inc.'s Warehouse Management solution (WMS) for Open Systems at its distribution center (DC) at Alfortville in France. This is the third site to have had the solution successfully installed following previous deployments at DCs in Yvonand and Chavornay in Switzerland.
The implementations at the three partner-operated sites in France and in Switzerland are part of a worldwide project Nestle Nespresso is undertaking to roll out the Manhattan Associates solution to many of the DCs operated by 21 logistics partners throughout the world. Nestle Nespresso selected Manhattan Associate's solution to support the strong growth the company is experiencing in Europe and around the world.
"Following the first implementations of Manhattan Associates' WMS, we're already benefiting from reliable traceability capabilities that enable us to comply with the specific demands of today's increasingly regulated food sector," says Nicolas Gueissaz, logistics director at Nestle Nespresso. "The new platform gives us centralized visibility of supply chain inventory and our operational activities worldwide and at the same time allows us to monitor the performance of our logistics services partners."
Following the go-live at Alfortville, Nestle Nespresso's roll-out program will continue at other sites across Europe during 2009.
