Global packaging company MeadWestvaco awards DSC Logistics a 20-year management contract for its Logistics Center in Lofton, Virginia. Terms of the agreement include having DSC provide logistics management services for the existing facility, as well as partnering with Gray Construction to build a 400,000-square-foot addition with a completion date of December 2008. Specific services DSC will provide include rail inbounds and outbounds, recoup of damaged material, network-wide systems visibility and inventory management. The relationship between DSC and MeadWestvaco is long-standing and includes logistics management support to other MeadWestvaco facilities including Atlanta, Houston, Florence, Kentucky and Greensboro, North Carolina. In accordance with terms of the new agreement, DSC will take over management of MeadWestvaco's Chicago facility on October 1.
