Hershey Promotes Phil Stanley to Chief Sales Officer

Phil Stanley

The Hershey Co. recently promoted Phil Stanley, its vice president of sales business development, to the role of chief sales officer.

In the position, Stanley leads and takes responsibility for Hershey’s global sales organization. Stanley’s focus is on building a next-generation, insights-driven sales group that remains the industry gold standard for decades, according to a recent blog post on Hershey’s website.

“I’ve had the pleasure of growing the business over many years with Hershey’s talented people,” Stanley wrote. “I can tell you they are the very best in the business.”

Stanley has spent his entire career at Hershey, starting in-store and then moving into a district sales supervisor role. He eventually became senior director of category development, followed by vice president, customer marketing, before leading Hershey’s Walmart team and then growing business in China.

Stanley was an active participant of the Retail Commission on Shopper Marketing. The group, which was formed in 2009 by the In-Store Marketing Institute (now known as the Path to Purchase Institute) and The Partnering Group, worked to develop a better model of effective collaboration for consumer product marketers and retailers.

Hershey is a member of the Path to Purchase Institute.
