Dot Foods Leverages Warehouse Management Solution
Dot Foods' Mt. Sterling, Ill. distribution center goes live with RedPrairie Corporation's Warehouse Management solution. The largest food re-distributor in the United States, Dot will use the system at their highest volume facility to help process over 80,000 products for grocers and food retailers of all sizes.
"To maintain and sustain continued growth at Dot Foods, we needed a system that would perform at a high enough level of efficiency to provide the kind of service our customers demand without any disruption," says John Long, Dot Foods VP of Operations. "RedPrairie's Warehouse Management solution is up to that task."
Dot's Mt. Sterling distribution center handles more than 60 percent of the $4 billion company's order volume, and has cool, dry and frozen storage facilities. The company is currently running Warehouse Management with its cooler operations, with plans to implement alongside dry and frozen operations within the next year. The solution right now is assisting the organization with pallet building, list picking, and more efficient travel and directed work operations.
