The extended supply chain in the consumer goods (CG) industry is getting more compact, as more and more  trading partners leverage data to collaborate in unique ways. Suppliers have more access to demand signals than ever before, and leaders are integrating this data into demand-driven supply networks to gain competitive advantage.

This month, Consumer Goods Technology and VeriSign partnered to conduct research on the topic and find out what is really happening with that data. Results show that while the industry is making progress, there is still much more that companies can do to take advantage of the available demand insights, particularly through use of point-of-sale (POS) data.
