Southeastern Grocers Gets Ready for the 'Big Game'
Southeastern Grocers is spotlighting party needs ahead of the National Football League's Super Bowl with a "Big Game Savings" campaign.
Coca-Cola Co. and PepsiCo/Frito-Lay get prime merchandising space in stores on endcaps bearing the message. The latter brand also received significant secondary space alongside Anheuser-Busch InBev with spectaculars touting their mutual sponsorship of the Super Bowl. Window signs used football-themed imagery to offer Plenti loyalty cardholders a BOGO deal on private label SE Grocers chicken and a discount on prepared wings. Stanchion signs and a feature in the chain's Jan. 17 circular support the "Stuff the Bucket" wings deal, which lets shoppers pay $9.99 to fill a 54-ounce container.
Winn-Dixie and Bi-Lo devoted a four-page in-store circular to the campaign. The tab hosts a recipe for meatball parmesan sliders, touts the Stuff the Bucket promotion, and offers additional deals on prepared foods and products from brands including Casella Family Brands' Yellow Tail, Beaver Street Fisheries' Sea Best and Huhtamaki's Chinet. Carousel ads on chain home pages, email ads and Facebook updates round out the marketing campaign.
