ShopRite Touts New BTS E-Commerce Function
ShopRite has teamed with TeacherLists, an online service for creating and sharing digital school supply lists, to allow shoppers to view and purchase all of a student's school-specific supplies through shoprite.com.
Shoppers can now access their local school supply lists via shoprite.com/teacherlists by entering their zip code and selecting a desired school and classroom. The page then prompts shoppers to click "buy this list” at ShopRite to either create an in-store checklist or purchase all of a student’s school-specific supplies through the retailer's ShopRite From Home delivery and in-store pickup service. Teachers can also use the page to upload their classroom supply lists. A video on the retailer’s ShopRite of Peekskill Facebook page touts the website function, which is powered by TeacherLists.
Besides the list function, shoprite.com/teacherlists also:
- contains videos spotlighting SC Johnson’s Ziploc and Newell Brands’ Sharpie and Elmer's SKUs (see one video below),
- depicts logos of the aforementioned brands, as well as Clorox Co.’s flagship, Acco Brands’ Mead, 3M’s Post-It and Newell Brands’ Paper Mate, and
- directs users to an e-commerce page listing BTS items in case shoppers can’t find their school-specific supply list.
Multiple back-to-school-themed Twitter and Facebook updates in August direct users to the page while spotlighting SKUs from Sharpie, Paper Mate, Mead, Elmer's, Ziploc and Clorox.
In stores, Bic Corp.'s flagship, Acco Brands' Five Star, Sharpie, Post-It and Elmer's enjoy secondary merchandising space via pallet displays or floorstands. A back-to-school-themed feature in the retailer's Aug. 10/12 circular also spotlights SKUs from brands including Five Star, Bic and Elmer's.
