Southeastern Grocers Gives Back to Schools
Southeastern Grocers is partnering with Kellogg Co. and General Mills on cause campaigns for back-to-school season.
Kellogg pledged to donate one book (up to 30,000) to a local school for every SE Grocers loyalty cardholder that purchases a qualifying SKU from Aug. 8-14. A feature running in chain circulars on Aug. 8 touted the program along with the manufacturer's national "Feeding Reading" campaign, which allows Kellogg's Family Rewards members who buy qualifying SKUs through Sept. 30 to submit their receipts and receive a free Scholastic book.
The retailer is also reprising a promotion it ran last year in which loyalty cardholders receive 20 bonus Box Tops for Education credits when they purchase three eligible Mills SKUs from Aug. 1-14. Features running in chain circulars on Aug. 1 plug the offer.
In other seasonal activity, the retailer is using a generic back-to-school message in stores on gondolas stocking SKUs from brands including SC Johnson's Ziploc, RB's Lysol and Epoca International's Ecolution. A dedicated four-page, in-store circular offers deals on SKUs from brands including private label SE Grocers, PepsiCo's Quaker, Pinnacle Foods' Duncan Hines and GOJO Industries' Purell that are valid from Aug. 8-21. Carousel and email ads link to digital versions of the circular.
