Ten individuals represent this year's class of People to Watch. Nominated by their respective companies' representatives in the Path to Purchase Institute's League of Leaders, these rising stars are making a name for themselves by doing work for their brands that is worthy of attention.

As field shopper marketing manager at Time Inc. for the last year, Melissa Vest is based in Bentonville, Arkansas, and responsible for the shopper marketing programs at Walmart as well as Target.
Nicole Tims leads next-generation shopper marketing work and stakeholder development within the world’s largest retailer. As senior marketing manager at Walmart, she sits on the shopper marketing strategy team within the customer experience division. She leads the strategy work in relation to Walmart’s customer missions, retail moments of truth and seamless retail.
Kate McAuley has been working on store floor formats since 2013, first with Abercrombie & Fitch and now as manager of space management at Walgreens. Her favorite project has been to develop the drug chain’s macro space optimization tool.
The sole shopper marketing manager for Walgreens at GlaxoSmithKline, Carrie Keller works across 23 different brands (including Flonase, Excedrin, Tums, Theraflu and Sensodyne), partnering with the retailer to build strategic campaigns that will help both win with shoppers.
Esteban Gamboa, national sales manager – e-commerce for Jack Link’s protein snacks, joined the company in late 2014 to start its e-commerce team.
With an education in communications and corporate communications and a knack for e-commerce, Russ Ferrara is well-positioned to grow the omnichannel strategy for Georgia-Pacific Consumer Products. Currently the team lead for shopper marketing, Ferrara has been with the company since 2011.
Erin DeChiara, the e-commerce sales and strategy leader at Barilla, has overseen the formation of the company’s e-commerce foundation.
Sam Brewster, senior manager of shopper insights at Dr Pepper Snapple Group, has made his mark with research customized by retailer in a department that is relatively new at the company.
Marcie Bracht leads Starbucks’ shopper marketing at Walmart and Sam’s Club. Bracht and her team are in charge of unifying the feel of a Starbucks location in the aisles.
Risa Shapiro joined PepsiCo in 2011, newly armed with her MBA, and worked in multiple brand marketing and innovation roles on the company’s Tropicana business. In August 2015, she assumed her current post of director of shopper marketing, charged with creating initiatives to change the way shopper marketing is executed.
