Kroger Runs Its Biggest Private Label Sale to Date
Kroger is offering $100 worth of digital coupons for its Simple Truth private label as part of the retailer's biggest sale to focus exclusively on its own brands.
Standees and stanchion signs in stores direct shoppers to the brand's website or the retailer's mobile application to download digital coupons that can be used up to five times in the same transaction. Simple Truth products are enjoying secondary merchandising space on floorstands, spectaculars and pallet displays.
Radio spots, run-of-press ads in newspapers including the Detroit Free Press and The Columbus Dispatch, display ads on websites such as whattoexpect.com and dictionary.com, carousel ads on chain home pages, full-page circular features, email ads, and Facebook and Twitter updates promote the campaign. The effort kicked off on Jan. 4 and some of the coupons expired on Jan. 17 while others remain valid through Jan. 24.
The sale aligns with the Restock Kroger plan, which puts an increased emphasis on private label sales, and the retailer's annual New Year's focus on Simple Truth. Kroger plans to continue expanding the organic and natural line in 2018 by adding more trendy and Fair Trade Certified products.
