Target, Casper Get in Bed Together Again
Target has expanded its relationship with Casper Sleep to give the mattress and bedding e-tailer's first "streamlined mattress" an in-store presence.
Made with the same pressure-relieving memory foam and breathable top layer used in other Casper mattresses, the "Essential" mattress is available to experience at 45 of Target's 1,822 stores from mid-February through mid-March — though the manufacturer did not respond to request for specific locations. Ranging from twin to California king in size and from $350 to $725 in price, the mattress is exclusively available for purchase at nearly 350 Target locations, target.com and casper.com. It originally launched last fall via casper.com.
Complementing the mattress' in-store debut, Target also rolled out new Casper "weightless" sheet sets that boast "the ideal balance of breathability and softness," according to a Feb. 8 A Bullseye View blog post announcing the expanded partnership. Priced from $75 to $110, the sheet sets come in white, light pink, navy, gray and pastel green colors.
A feature in the retailer's Feb. 25 circular touted the new sheet sets and mattress, dangling a $20 store gift card with purchase of any Casper sheet set. A promotional page within target.com supports.
Target first partnered with Casper last year to exclusively stock a selection of products from the digital-native brand. The retailer has since furthered its strategy of giving e-commerce brands an in-store presence, most recently teaming with New York-based company Bark to stock a selection of dog toys and natural treats.
