P&G Sends Football Fans to Boxed
Procter & Gamble is activating its official sponsorship of the National Football League at e-commerce retailer Boxed.
The manufacturer spotlighted Boxed in an Oct. 18 email blast sent to members of its P&G Everyday online community by dangling a free 11-inch football with purchase of three participating items at the retailer. The missive directed consumers to a dedicated web page (boxed.com/pgfootball) listing eligible products from brands including Bounty, Tide, Cascade and Luvs and instructing shoppers to use promo code "TOUCHDOWN" at checkout to redeem the offer, which ends on Dec. 31. (It's unclear when the offer began.)
The web page additionally links to a separate “Stock Up with P&G” e-commerce page plugging the football incentive as well as a sweepstakes awarding one winner tickets to Super Bowl LIII. Shoppers are automatically entered with purchase of one eligible SKU via Boxed.com from Oct. 15 and Nov. 12, or by leaving a comment with the hashtag #HostedWithBoxed and their best tip for being a game day host on the retailer’s Oct. 15 Instagram or Facebook Super Bowl updates. Multiple Twitter updates support the sweeps, linking to the aforementioned Facebook update.
The duo also teamed up last year to tie in to football season and incentivize purchases of $30 worth of P&G products with a $20 nflshop.com gift card.
