Organic Meal Kit Launches Exclusively at Costco
Costco is exclusively stocking an all-organic meal kit from condiments, dressings and prepared foods manufacturer Hak's for a limited time at three Los Angeles and Orange County, CA, stores.
The Chimichurri Chicken 30-minute meal kit is available in those Southern California Costco stores through the first week of July for $29.99. The meal kit is also available for delivery via DoorDash at a higher price of $39.99.
Facebook and Instagram updates from Hak’s support the exclusive launch.
Celebrity chef and Hak’s founder Sharone Hakman created the kit to align with “consumer demands by offering minimal clean-up, as well as being gluten free and paleo-friendly.” It includes pre-seasoned chicken thighs, garlic smashed potatoes, pan-roasted broccolini and blistered cherry tomatoes in a lemon vinaigrette.
Although the Chimichurri Chicken meal kit is a limited-time offer for now, Hak's executive sales assistant Ashley Yancey told the Institute there is potential for a larger rollout in coming months.
This isn’t the first time Costco has partnered with Hak’s for an exclusive offer. In April, Hak's brought back its 40-ounce brown sugar roasted garlic barbecue sauce exclusively at Costco locations in Texas and Northern California. Facebook and Instagram updates supported.
Hak’s sauces and dressings are sold in more than 12,000 U.S. stores including Kroger, Target and Whole Foods.
In related news, meal kit company Blue Apron recently began piloting specifically designed meal kits at select Costco stores in the Pacific Northwest and the San Francisco Bay area.
