Nissin Foods USA, which manufactures a variety of Asian-inspired products, including Cup Noodles, Top Ramen and Cup Noodles Stir Fry, has hired Glenn Lawse to help lead its supply chain operations.

As VP of supply chain, Lawse will be instrumental as the company strengthens its operations, advances its capabilities and positions the organization for long-term growth, according to a statement on LinkedIn from president and CEO Yukio Yokoyama.

Lawse brings more than 25 years of global supply chain experience, having driven large-scale digital transformations, network redesigns and operational turnarounds for enterprise companies such as Campari Group, Ferrero and Johnson & Johnson.

At Campari Group, he oversaw more than 900 employees and $750 million in spend while deploying AI-enhanced forecasting in SAP IBP — improving target market forecast accuracy by 5 percentage points and slashing year-end inventory by 15% through a new global planning center of excellence, according to LinkedIn.

During his tenure at Ferrero, he managed supply operations for a $1.5 billion North American business, closing over $300 million in CapEx for three new distribution warehouses and executing a logistics network redesign that generated a 10% reduction in cost per pallet. Earlier at Johnson & Johnson, he facilitated executive reviews of the corporate $5 billion annual global capital portfolio, led the design of the 2015 J&J supply chain strategic plan, and standardized regional SAP systems while directing supply chain operations for $800 million in consumer franchises.

Lawse joins at a time when the company is moving toward a fully integrated, AI-enabled supply chain. This past summer, the company said it would use Highspring’s supply chain-as-a-service platform and embed Blue Yonder's demand and supply chain planning capabilities as it moves away from legacy planning tools to streamline inventory management, improve forecasting accuracy and reduce operational costs.

At the time, Yokoyama said the integration will empower the company with enhanced visibility, agility and collaboration across its supply chain, finance and operations teams.

"By leveraging advanced planning capabilities, we will be able to make smarter decisions, respond more quickly to market changes and operate more efficiently across our business," he said.
