Brian Donovan, senior director, strategy and insights, Nestlé Purina North America, said that understanding the needs of pet owners requires a clear view of how consumer behaviors, shopping habits and category trends are evolving.

This initiative will explore how "intelligence can be incorporated into Purina’s everyday, AI-enabled workstreams, helping our teams access relevant consumer insights more efficiently and make informed decisions with greater confidence,” Donovan added in a statement.

The effort aligns with Nestlé's multiyear journey of establishing a new operating model for its marketing function, which aims to connect deeper consumer insights within innovation and marketing, according to CEO Philipp Navratil.

Overall, streamlined access to data will help the company improve its resource allocation, increasing visibility into the enterprise data that lets the company see where investments are working well and where the ROI just hasn't shown up, according to previous statements from EVP and CFO Anna Olive Manz.
