LoCo Cookers Heat Up Thanksgiving at Lowe's
Manufacturer LoCo Cookers earned secondary merchandising space at Lowe's during the Thanksgiving season by providing the home improvement retailer with some exclusive SKUs.
Lowe's is the exclusive brick-and-mortar retailer of LoCo Cookers' turkey fryer kit, frying pot, peanut oil and accessories, LoCo Cookers director of marketing Sally Sumrall confirmed in an e-mail to P2PI. E-commerce pages within lococookers.com contain "Buy at Lowe's" buttons that link to corresponding product pages on lowes.com.
Currently in its first year at the hardware retailer, LoCo commands a floorstand stocking thermometers and frying racks, as well as case stacks of its peanut cooking oil. Located in the upfront aisle, the products bookend case stacks of turkey fryers from competitors Seaboard Corp.'s Butterball and Char-Broil.
LoCo's turkey fryer kits and cooking oil also are stocked on an endcap above the aforementioned competing brands. Located in the seasonal department, the endcap is outfitted with a bilingual "Low Prices" header.
Peachtree Packaging and Display, Lawrenceville, Georgia, designed the custom packaging for the exclusive peanut oil. A total of 75,000 corrugated boxes were produced on Peachtree's Gopfert five-color dual die cutting press and shipped nationwide for the holiday season, according to a media release.
"We wanted the packaging to appeal to both seasoned turkey fryers, as well as Millennials who are great at getting people together for a backyard cookout or special events like Friendsgiving dinners round the table," Sumrall said in the release.
