Instinct Pet Food Expands AI-Enabled Supply Chain Planning
Instinct Pet Food, which manufactures raw and natural pet nutrition products, is progressing on its supply chain modernization strategy, expanding its AI-enabled demand planning capabilities.
This builds on an existing relationship with Demand Chain AI, which began last year as part of Instinct's efforts to align demand planning, production and inventory management.
The company will combine product planning and scheduling technology with advanced demand sensing so it can expand its inventory planning capabilities from a short-term view to 24 months and beyond.

The upgrades replace traditional time-series forecasting with assumption-based, driver-driven forecasting models. Through this implementation, Instinct expects to improve forecast accuracy, optimize inventory, reduce working capital, strengthen innovation planning capabilities and provide a more connected foundation for improved decision-making.
This unifies Instinct's sales, marketing, finance and operations insights into a single forecast, allowing the company to proactively identify stockout risks, recommend corrective actions and automate routine planning activities.
The expanded relationship will help Instinct better align its commercial and operational plans, improve responsiveness to changing market conditions, and support smarter decisions as it continues to scale its business, said chief financial officer Mark Ferguson.
