7-Eleven, Red Bull Celebrate 30 Years of 'Street Fighter'
Red Bull GmbH's Red Bull is running an exclusive sweepstakes at 7-Eleven as an overlay to the brand's national campaign celebrating the 30th anniversary of Capcom's Street Fighter.
Members of the retailer's 7Rewards loyalty program enter the "Street Fighter Campaign" sweeps by purchasing two 12-ounce cans of Red Bull from Nov. 8 through Jan. 2, 2018. One grand-prize winner will be awarded a custom-made “standing arcade” cabinet comprising a Sony PlayStation 4 (PS4) video game console and various games including Street Fighter V. Thirty first-prize winners will also be awarded with a PS4 and 50 second-prize winners receive a Street Fighter V PS4 game.
Floorstands promote the sweeps in stores employing a "Hadoken in a Can" message. Pump toppers, a 7-eleven.com carousel ad and an ad within the retailer's mobile application also support.
The sweeps at 7-Eleven is meant to drum up excitement for the manufacturer's limited-edition Street Fighter cans, which contain codes for Red Bull-themed costumes in Street Fighter V. Codes are redeemable from Nov. 1 through April 30, 2018 via a promotional page within redbull.com.
Known for attracting a young male demographic, 7-Eleven regularly teams with beverage manufacturers on sweeps and promotions, especially when they involve video games. The retailer partnered with Red Bull this same time last year for an exclusive sweeps and, most recently, teamed with Coca-Cola Co. to support EA Sports’ Sept. 29 release of FIFA 18.
